Special Schedule for All Students April 25-26
Juniors to Take Prairie State Achievement Examinations
On Wednesday and Thursday, April 25-26, all juniors will take the Prairie State Achievement Examination (PSAE) to determine how well they are meeting Illinois Learning Standards. Stevenson will run special schedules each day because of the testing.
School will begin at the regular starting time, 8:05 a.m., on both days. Freshmen, sophomores and seniors will attend periods one through four on Wednesday, and periods five through eight on Thursday; each period will last 55 minutes. Seniors will be released after classes both days. Juniors will be released at 12:10 Wednesday, April 25 and at noon Thursday, April 26. Sophomores will attend a special program sponsored by Peer Helpers on the afternoon of either April 25 or 26. (More information on the sophomore program is below.) Freshmen will attend A World of Difference with their advisory on either April 25 or 26. On the day their advisory is not participating, freshmen are released to leave campus with their parents after classes are dismissed, or when buses leave. A complete schedule for both days is available , here (PDF).
To accommodate the PSAE testing, all classes will be held in the West Building.
Juniors will take the PSAE exams in the East Building both days. They will not attend any of their regularly scheduled classes on either day. Some qualified 11th-graders may be taking IMAGE (Illinois Measure of Annual Growth in English) tests in place of the PSAE.
Any junior absent on April 25 will make up the ACT test on May 9. Any junior absent on April 26 will make up the state portion of the PSAE on May 10.
